There's even the mysterious weapon Eldner which we don’t really know what it does.

The Ashlands expansion introduces a new dynamic to Valheim's exploration and combat. Giant fortresses dot the landscape, each a bastion of resources and new challenges. To conquer these fortresses, players can use newly introduced siege weapons like a coal-fueled battering ram or even launch themselves over walls with a catapult. This new approach to biome progression emphasizes strategy and brute force in equal measure​. And we gotta say that siege weaponry is JUST AWESOME. How might that be used later on in other places? Imagine using it against player antagonists in a shared world? That’s just neat.

Magic users will find the Ashlands particularly rewarding, with new staves and spells that allow for summoning additional forces such as trolls and tentacle-like vines. These new tools expand the magical repertoire, giving players more ways to tackle threats or manipulate the environment to their advantage. The introduction of these magical elements continues to build on the game’s magical options and giving a better means of specialization and optimization for pure casters, pure fighters, or those that like both.

No Valheim expansion is complete without enhancements to building and customization options. The Ashlands introduce 50 new build pieces, many of which carry a distinctly gothic aesthetic. Players can now construct buildings with ashwood, a new type of wooden material that offers a unique look for your Viking stronghold. Additionally, plantable vines that grow grapes can add both utility and aesthetic appeal to your settlements​ (which might be useful as something else later . . . who knows)

Beyond the immediate threats and resources, the Ashlands are designed to feel alive and interactive. The biome’s geography varies from fiery inland regions to soot-covered forests near the coastline, each offering different challenges and opportunities.
