Astroneer server hosting, done properly
A dedicated Astroneer server for your crew, so the base is there whether or not the host is online. Every server setting in the dashboard, AstroModLoader mods from Thunderstore, and admins, whitelist and bans by player name. Friends add it in the game's server list with the address on your server card.
Hardware built for Astroneer
Astroneer is heavy on single-thread performance, so we run it on top-tier AMD Ryzen 9 processors, including the flagship 9950X, with NVMe storage. Every Astroneer plan also gets 1GB of extra memory headroom on top of what you pay for, because the Astroneer server is a Windows program, and the layer that runs it on our Linux machines needs room of its own.
Your base, without a host
On a dedicated server the world does not depend on one player's PC: anyone in your crew can join and keep building. Up to 8 players at once, the game's own limit, on Steam and PlayStation.
Mods without the setup
Add AstroModLoader .pak mods from Thunderstore on the Mods card, or upload your own. Haptic runs the mod integrator on every start, so there is nothing to set up on the server. Most mods also need installing by every player.
Admins, whitelist and bans by name
The Admins tab sets the game's own Full Admin, Whitelist and Ban roles by in-game name, and a change reaches a running server within seconds. Turn on Whitelist Only to keep the server to your crew.
Unlimited backups you can actually restore
Automatic daily backups plus event backups around risky changes, with one-click restore. Bring an existing Astroneer save with you: upload your world as a .savegame file through Files or SFTP and keep playing where you left off.
Full file accessBeta
A real file manager in the browser and SFTP for everything else. Edit configs, drop in mod files, or pull a copy of your save down whenever you want it.
Astroneer tonight, something else next week
Your memory is a pool, not a Astroneer-only rental. Swap this server to another game whenever you like, or run several games at once. One subscription covers all of it.
Your Astroneer server, right where your friends already chat
Add the Haptic bot to your Discord and post a live card for your server.
- Friends wake the server, see who’s on and grab the join code, right in Discord
- A ping in your channel the moment it’s ready to join
- You choose which roles can wake, restart or stop it

Start on your phone. Build on your computer. Host games across your favorite platforms. And easily switch games from your phone, tablet, and computer, included in every plan. All on demand.
Questions? Answers.
In Astroneer's main menu, click Server List, then Add Dedicated Server and type the numeric IP address and port shown on your server card into Server URL, for example 203.0.113.10:33001. Give it any nickname, click Add Server, then pick it under Favorite Servers and click Join. If nothing shows under Favorite Servers, quit the game fully, launch it again and add the server once more.
Steam (PC) and PlayStation players can join an Astroneer server on Haptic. Xbox and Microsoft Store players cannot: System Era lets them join only its partner hosts. Nintendo Switch has no dedicated-server support at all.
Up to 8, the game's own limit, and Max Players can set it lower. A bigger plan does not add player slots.
Set Owner Name in your server settings to your Steam profile name to make yourself the server's owner. Other players get Full Admin, Whitelist or Ban on the Admins tab by their in-game name, and the change reaches a running server within seconds.
Yes. Astroneer mods are AstroModLoader .pak files. Add them from Thunderstore on your server's Mods card, or upload your own into astro-saved/Paks with the file manager or SFTP, and Haptic runs the integrator on every start. Most mods change the game for everyone, so every player installs the same mods with AstroModLoader on their own PC.
Every 20 minutes by default, and you can set anything from 1 to 60 minutes. Stopping or restarting the server saves the world first, and so does going to sleep on Wake & Play. Haptic backs up your world automatically, and you can restore any backup with one click.
Yes, that is what Wake & Play does. Your Astroneer server saves and goes to sleep about an hour after the last player leaves, and wakes again from the dashboard or a shared wake link, so you are not paying for an empty world. If you would rather it never sleep, choose Always On.
Yes. With the server stopped, upload your .savegame file into astro-saved/SaveGames with the file manager or SFTP, then set Active Save in your server settings to the save's name (the part before the $ in the file name) and start the server.
Astroneer servers on Haptic start at 3GB, and 5GB is the recommended size for a full crew or a modded game. Every Astroneer plan also runs with 1GB of extra headroom on top of what you pay for. You can change memory from the dashboard at any time without moving your world.
