Garry's Mod has no Direct Connect button. In the game, click Find Multiplayer Game, then Favorites, paste the address and port from your server card into the box at the top, click the heart next to your server, and join it. You can also press Join on your server card, or turn on the developer console in Options and type connect followed by the address and port.
Garry's Mod servers on Haptic are for the PC version of the game on Steam, on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Up to 16 by default, and you can set Max Players anywhere from 2 to 128, the game's own limit. A busy server with many addons uses more memory, so choose a larger plan for a big community.

Any other gamemode works too: add it on the Mods card or upload it, then type its folder name in Gamemode Folder.
Add your Steam ID as Superadmin on the Admins tab of your server. Haptic writes it into the server's own user list, and into ULX's list when ULX is installed, and a running server gets the change at once. Admin, Operator, Whitelist and Ban work the same way.
Yes. Add Steam Workshop addons, maps and gamemodes on your server's Mods card, or a whole Workshop collection in your settings. Each Workshop item is tested on a real Garry's Mod server before it can reach yours. You can also upload your own addons, gamemodes and maps with the file manager or SFTP.
Garry's Mod and its addons write to the server's database and data folder as they go, so there is no save timer to set. Stopping or restarting the server shuts the game down cleanly first. Haptic backs up your world automatically, and you can restore any backup with one click.
Yes. Wake & Play is the cheaper plan. Your server sleeps after about an hour with nobody on, and you wake it from your dashboard before you play, with the world as you left it. Always On costs more and never sleeps.
Yes. Zip sv.db and the data folder from your garrysmod folder, or another host's whole garrysmod folder, and upload it with Upload World on your server's Backups card. Your server keeps its own settings, addons, admins and bans.
