Your server's seed is on your dashboard: press Detail view on the server card, go to the Basic tab of the Overview card, and read the World Seed field (the first field in the tab). It fills in by itself about a minute after the server first comes online with that world. To play a specific seed instead, create a world with that seed in Valheim on your PC and bring it over with Upload World; there is no seed box on the server itself, and Reset World always rolls a random one.
Press Detail view on your server's card in My Servers.
In the Overview card, open the Basic tab.
Read the World Seed field.

The value is Valheim's readable seed string, the same kind players share online. Anyone can type it into the seed field when creating a New Game world in Valheim and get the same terrain as your server. The field is display-only; it shows your seed and cannot change it.
The field reads the seed from your world file once, the first time your server comes online with the world, and then leaves it alone. So it needs the server to have been online at least once since mid-August 2026, when the field was added. Start your server, give it a minute or two after it shows online, and refresh the page. Your world is fine either way.
Because that read happens only once, a server that already shows a seed keeps showing it even after you upload a different world. If you have uploaded a world, the seed you typed in Valheim is the one that counts, not the field.

There is no field to type a seed into on a Valheim server. The supported path is to create the world on your PC and upload it; it takes about five minutes.
Power down your server. Upload World is disabled while it runs.
In Valheim on your PC, create a new world. Give it a name and replace the random seed in the Seed field with the one you want. Leave the world modifiers at their defaults: anything you switch on there is written into the world file, and turning it back off later means the console route. Set difficulty on the server instead.
Load into the world once, then quit to the menu. Valheim only writes the rest of the world on that first save, and the uploader needs the complete world.
Upload it. On your server, open the Backups card, click Upload World, and drag both world files in (or the whole world folder on newer Valheim versions). The folder path, the hidden-file-extension trap, and the map-cache files to skip are all in Valheim: Upload your existing world.
Start your server. If the World Seed field was still empty, it fills in with your seed about a minute later.

Your current server world is backed up automatically right before the upload replaces it, so this is safe to try and easy to undo from the Backups list. One limitation to know about: if the World Seed field already showed a seed before the upload, it keeps showing the old world's seed afterwards, because only Reset World clears it.
Reset World. It always generates a fresh random seed (the field clears, then shows the new seed a minute after the first start). Use it to reroll blind; to land on a chosen seed, use the upload path above.
Typing into the World Seed field. It is read-only.
Expecting the seed to carry settings. A seed recreates the terrain only. Difficulty, raids, death penalty, and the rest come from world modifiers and presets, which are separate from the seed.
