Your Don't Starve Together world is a Cluster folder (Cluster_1, Cluster_2 and so on) holding cluster.ini, Master and Caves. Zip that whole folder, or drag it onto the upload box, then power down your server, open the Backups card, click Upload World and drop it in. Returning players keep their characters, and your world keeps its own world settings.
In the game, open Host Game, hover your world and choose Manage World, then Open World Folder. Go up one folder and zip the whole Cluster folder: it holds cluster.ini, Master and Caves. To find which Cluster folder is which world, open its cluster.ini: cluster_name is the world's name.
Where the folders are: on Windows in Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether, on a Mac in ~/Documents/Klei/DoNotStarveTogether, and on Linux and Steam Deck in ~/.klei/DoNotStarveTogether (a hidden folder; Linux and Steam Deck have no Open World Folder button). Open the folder named with numbers to see your Cluster folders.
A world kept in Steam Cloud: in the game, choose Convert To Local Save first, then zip its Cluster folder. A Steam Cloud folder with Master.zip and Caves.zip, or a Master.zip on its own, also uploads.
From another host or a dedicated server: zip the cluster folder (MyDediServer, config/server or Cluster_1). Your Master folder, its contents, its save folder, or shards with other names (Forest and Cave) also work: we find the overworld and the Caves by their saves and tell you what we did.
A Haptic backup download can be uploaded as it is. New backups no longer contain your Klei Server Token.
Close Don't Starve Together, so the world is not being saved while you copy it.
Power down your server. Upload World is disabled while the server is running.
Open the Backups card and click Upload World.
Drop in the Cluster folder, or a ZIP, RAR, 7Z, or TAR.GZ of it, and confirm with Upload and replace world. Your server's current world is saved first as Backup before world upload.
When the import finishes, press Start.

Caves come with the Cluster folder. If your upload has no Caves, the server makes new Caves and the server card says so. If Enable Caves is off, uploaded Caves are kept and run once you turn it on. A Caves folder with another name is used when it is this world's Caves (a dedicated server's Caves folder, or one saved at the same time as the overworld); otherwise the server card names it and the server makes new Caves.
Returning players keep their characters when you upload a world saved by a current version of the game, whole or only its save folders.
Your world keeps the world settings it was saved with. If you changed a world setting from Default on the Overview card's Details tab before uploading, that value is applied over the world's own; set it back to Default first if you want the world's own value. If your upload has its own worldgenoverride.lua, that file decides.
A world set up as an offline or LAN game is switched to an online game so your friends can join.
Mods: if you upload only the save folders of a world that uses mods, add the mods on the Mods card (the server card names how many the world had), or upload the whole Cluster folder so its modoverrides.lua comes too.
Several worlds: if your upload has the save folders of more than one world without their Cluster folders, you choose which world to use after the upload.
Copied while the game was saving: close Don't Starve Together and zip the Cluster folder again.
Not a world: you uploaded the client_save folder, the game's program folder, a Cluster folder without its save, settings without saves, or mods without a world. The message says which one you uploaded and where your world is.
Never saved: the world must have been saved at least once. Play it, save, and upload it again.
A refused upload changes nothing on your server.
