V Rising voice chat needs your own Vivox account: Haptic servers start with voice off and no keys. Create a Vivox application, then open Files, go to save-data/Settings/ServerVoipSettings.json, set VOIPEnabled to true, fill in your four Vivox values, save, and restart the server.
V Rising's in-game proximity voice is provided by Vivox, a voice service now run by Unity. A dedicated server only has voice when it is given a Vivox application's credentials, and those belong to whoever created the application. Haptic cannot hand out its own, so every server starts with voice switched off. Everything else about the server works without it.
Sign in to Unity's developer dashboard, create a project with Vivox voice enabled, and open its credentials. You need four values:
| In Vivox | In the file |
|---|---|
| Issuer | VOIPIssuer |
| Secret key | VOIPSecret |
| Domain | VOIPVivoxDomain |
| API endpoint | VOIPAPIEndpoint |
Keep the secret key private: anyone with it can use your Vivox application.
Open My Servers, open your V Rising server, and stop it.
On the Files card, browse to save-data > Settings and open ServerVoipSettings.json.
Set VOIPEnabled to true.
Fill in VOIPIssuer, VOIPSecret, VOIPVivoxDomain and VOIPAPIEndpoint with your four values. Text values keep their double quotes, for example "VOIPIssuer": "your-issuer".
Save, then start the server.

The game reads the file at every start. Haptic only creates it when it is missing, so your keys stay put through restarts, updates and Wake & Play sleeps. The other voice settings in the file (how far voices carry, and so on) keep the game's defaults unless you change them there.
To switch voice off again, set VOIPEnabled to false and restart.
Leaving out the quotes around a value. The file is JSON: text needs double quotes, true and false do not.
Editing the file while the server runs. The game only reads it at start, so restart after saving.
Looking for a voice switch in the dashboard settings. Voice lives only in this file, because it needs your keys.
Ask in Discord or email support@haptic.gg with a screenshot of ServerVoipSettings.json with the secret key blanked out.
