PalworldGuidePalworld admin is password based, not per account. Find the Admin Password on your Haptic dashboard, join your server, then send /AdminPassword in chat.
Palworld does not have per-account admins. There is no list where you add a Steam account, and that is a Palworld rule, not something we control. Instead, your server has an Admin Password, and anyone who types it into the in-game chat becomes an admin for that play session. We generate a random admin password for every new server, so you can use it right away without changing any settings.
Games like Minecraft keep a list of operator accounts on the server. Palworld works differently: admin rights come from a shared password. You type a chat command with the password after joining, the server confirms it, and from that moment you can use admin commands.
Two things follow from this:
Anyone who knows the password can become admin, including kick and ban powers. Only share it with people you trust.
Admin rights last for your current session only. If you disconnect and rejoin, type the command again. That is normal Palworld behavior, not a problem with your server.
Open your server in your Haptic dashboard and go to the Details section of your server's settings. The Admin Password field is hidden behind dots: click the eye icon to reveal it, or use the copy button next to it to copy it without showing it on screen.
You do not need to set anything up. Every server gets a random admin password when it is created. If you would rather use your own, type a new one into the field, then restart your server so the change takes effect.
Join with your normal Steam account. If the game asks for a password at the join screen, that is the Server Password (the one your friends use to join), not the admin password.
Press Enter to open the chat, then send /AdminPassword yourpasswordhere, using your actual admin password. You will see a confirmation that you now have admin rights. Remember to repeat this step each time you rejoin the server.
Skip the typing. Next to the Admin Password field in your dashboard there is a Copy chat command button. It copies the full /AdminPassword ... line with your password already filled in, so you can paste it straight into the chat without any typos.
Some of the most useful commands, all typed into the chat:
/ShowPlayers lists everyone online with their IDs (including their Steam ID)
/KickPlayer <SteamID> and /BanPlayer <SteamID> remove or ban a player, using the Steam ID from /ShowPlayers
/Broadcast <message> sends a message to everyone on the server
/Save saves the world immediately
For the full, current command list, see the official Palworld server commands page.
Searching the dashboard for an admin list or operator toggle. Palworld does not have one, so there is nothing to find. The Admin Password field is the whole system.
Being the server owner. Owning the server in your Haptic dashboard does not grant in-game admin by itself. You still type /AdminPassword like everyone else.
Typing the admin password at the join screen. The join screen wants the Server Password, so the admin password fails there with a password error. That error is about joining, not about admin: join with the server password first, then send /AdminPassword in the chat. The reverse also fails, so sending the join password with /AdminPassword will not work either.
Mods from the mod catalog such as Admin Commands add extra commands on top of Palworld's built-in ones: giving items, spawning Pals, teleporting, and more.
You become an admin for these mods the same way as everything else on this page: send /AdminPassword yourpasswordhere in the chat first. After that, type !help to see what the mod offers (mod commands usually start with ! instead of /).
Some admin mods can also remember specific players as permanent admins, so those players never have to type the password. That list lives in the mod's config file on the server: for Admin Commands, it is the adminUIDs list in the mod's config.lua, filled with player IDs (/ShowPlayers prints everyone's ID). If you do not see a Files tab on your server yet (it is rolling out), message us and we will add your permanent admins for you.
Change the Admin Password in your server's Details settings, then restart the server. After the restart the old password stops working, and everyone who should keep admin just uses the new one.
If the command does not give you admin rights, double-check for typos (use the Copy chat command button instead of retyping) and make sure your server was restarted after any password change. Still stuck? Message us in Discord or open a ticket, and include your server name and a screenshot of what happens when you run the command.
